New Scientific Research Group Has Been Established

A new scientific research group, xrLab, has been founded under the leadership of Professor Alexander Sharmazanashvili. xrLab continues the legacy of the Nuclear Engineering Center at Georgian Technical University.

The primary mission of xrLab is the development of real-scale virtual reality worlds, supported by AI-driven tools, to create immersive cognitive experiences for diverse target audiences—including engineers, physicists, educators, students, artists, and business professionals.

The group brings together young, motivated specialists:

  1. Shota Tevdorashvili – Lead Software Developer
  2. Shota Chlaidze – Lead Software Developer
  3. Giorgi Bokhochadze – Unity Developer
  4. Giorgi Avaliani – Concept Creator
  5. Nick Kublashvili – Senior Designer
  6. Nikoloz Suladze – Game Designer
  7. Ekaterina Kopaliani – AI Programmer

xrLab plans to pursue R&D collaborations with the Computer Science Group at Zwickau University, Germany (Professor Dr. Sven Hellbach) and the XR Laboratory at Volvo Cars, Sweden (Dr. Timmy Ghiurau).

xrLab will also utilize the XR Laboratory and AI platform at Business and Technology University, Tbilisi, Georgia.
