STARTING NEW PROJECT

GCCEG starts a new collaboration project with CERN. This project foresees integration of GCCEC in modification of ISOLDE-REX accelerator. Agreement of collaboration includes creating a single whole CATIA V5 based digital model. GCCEC has to transform already existing Euclid and Pro-Engineering based 3D models to CATIA V5 and afterwards upload them to CERN’s SmarTeam server. Reports of geometric identity check of the transformed models have to be enclosed in the model transformation. On 8 January 2009 Co-operation Agreement was signed between CERN, represented by ISOLDE-REX Accelerator Technical Coordinator, Mr Richard Catherall, and GCCEC, represented by GCCEC Director, Alexander Sharmazanashvili. ISOLDE (Isotope Separation On-Line) accelerator, founded in 1954, is one of the first linear accelerators. Today modifications are being planned for the Radioactive beam Experiment at ISOLDE (REX-ISOLDE).
