On May 13th, the IMC Steering Group held its biannual meeting, featuring key updates from international collaborators and new strategic initiatives.
The meeting, chaired by Kenneth William Cecire and Uta Bilow, took place in a hybrid format with participants joining both in person and via Zoom. It kicked off with a warm welcome, followed by a presentation from Alexander Sharmazanashvili, who shared his team’s initial experiences implementing the Tracer tool during IMC25. His talk highlighted both technical developments and educational impact.
Uta Bilow then reported on the CERN Masterclasses, offering insights into recent sessions and future plans. This was followed by Kenneth Cecire and Spencer Pasero, who jointly reviewed the IMC programs at Fermilab and QuarkNet, emphasizing collaboration between institutions and successful student engagement.
The meeting continued with Viota Foka presenting updates on the PTMC Masterclasses, underlining the program’s reach and contributions to particle physics education. A discussion on the endorsement of new Steering Group members concluded the core agenda, with Spencer Pasero and Shane Wood nominated to represent currently unrepresented masterclasses, MINERvA and NOvA.
The session closed with an open floor segment (AOB), allowing attendees to raise additional points and suggestions. The meeting was marked by active participation and clear direction for future IMC initiatives.
