STUDENT PROGRAM STARTED AT CERN

Masters training student of Technical University of Georgia Niko TSUTSKIRIDZE has been arrived on research program at CERN. Official invitation has been issued by ATLAS according to collaborative agreement AA366/10 between CERN and Georgian team, including Technical University of Georgia and Georgian CAD/CAM engineering center. Research topic of student based on the project which was recently done by Georgian team for the ATLAS simulation group. It was successfully modified existing descriptions of ATLAS detector coils, reproducing in CATIA “as-built” geometry from the engineering database; comparing it with existing G4 and FLUGG models and identifying discrepancies. Finally CATIA geometry has been transferred into G4 C++ codes. Niko TSUTSKIRIDZE was participating actively on the all stages of project execution contributed lot in DMU calculations and C++ coding. His master’s thesis should be evaluated by CERN experts on consistency with the recognized level of CERN collaborative universities world wide.
