NEW AGREEMENT HAS BEEN APPROVED

GCCEC sign new collaboration agreement with ATLAS (CERN, Geneva, Switzerland). GCCEC agree to have a responsibility to organize Georgian team and coordinate it in order to contribute in ATLAS software development activity. Georgian team will be built among the GCCEC and Georgian Technical University and will be supported by the Georgian government. 3 main working packages have been described and agreed by the parties:

1. Development of geometry modules for the event visualization package “VirtualPoint1”.
2. Optimization and further development of software tools used to store and retrieve detector conditions data into the ATLAS Oracle database using the COOL software package.
3. Integration of the CATIA geometry description with the GeoModel geometry package used in ATLAS software.

GCCEC will be responsible also for the quality control of results delivered to ATLAS software.
