MUON & NSW SOFTWARE (MUON WEEK)

Georgian Enginering Team (GET) of Georgian Technical University (GTU) participated in Muon & NSW Software (Muon Week).

Member of GET was working on development of XML descriptions of NSW(new small wheel). Project was divided into four parts which are development XMLs for “NSW Aluminum Structure and New HUB”, “NJD Disk”, “A-Plate” and “LS and SS Spacer Frames”. for all the parts of project following steps were taken: firstly Finding ST model in Engineering DB and checking status, then dividing full assembly into volumes, which was followed by simplification of volumes, checking internal and external conflicts and after all of this was done preparing XML file.

The project was completed successfully and XML file is already being used in ATLAS simulation packages.
