Group was guided underground by Tile Calorimeter team leader Mr. STANEK Bob (USA). Introduction of ATLAS detector – purpose, structure, used technologies, collaborative partnership has been done. Group was lifted down underground in cavern where detector is situated.ATLAS detector is largest one in LHC system. Construction works were started in 1998 and have to be finished at the end of 2007. Main characteristics of detector are ~30m length, ~24m high, weight ~7’000 tones. 140 institutes from 37 countries were collaborated with CERN to built ATLAS detector.
