AGAIN ON DASSAULT’S SPOTLIGHT

Dassault Systemes published “3D Design in Nuclear Engineering” of Nikoloz Sharmazanashvili, member of GCCEC, in e0journal “3D PERSPECTIVES” http://perspectives.3ds.com/design/3d-design-in-nuclear-engineering/. Paper describes ATLAS detector 3D model built by GCCEC as a result of 5 years collaborative project with ATLAS, CERN, Geneva, Switzerland. Also it contains technical clip done in CATIA which illustrates installation study of End-Cap toroid – heaviest part of ATLAS detector /280 tonnes. Collaboration between GCCEC and CERN was started in 2004. GCCEC was responsible for the migration of 3D models from different CAD platforms into CATIA and development entire 3D geometry model of ATLAS detector including detector components, infrastructure, services and supports. Project was successfully finished at the end of 2008. Dassault Systems is world leader and largest company providing PLM solutions.
