Archil Surmava
Archil Surmava – stream manager at nuclear research center (GTU)
After the Master of Science in IT, I landed work at CERN (European organization for nuclear research) as a CAD designer.
The subjects covered under the Master’s program allowed me to understand the projecting of the engineering
tasks easily. My duty at CERN included 3D models production and process operation. After three years of work
experience, I decided to learn more about Complex and Multifaceted Functional Design and moved to CAD/CAM
Engineering Center. In 2017 I earned PhD from GTU in “Engineering of Informatics”.
My research paper for the Doctor of Science Degree has been reviewed by Dr. Jean-Pierre
Charles Revol, president of The international Thorium Energy Committee (iThEC), scientist at CERN.
Now I am a Researcher at the “Nuclear engineering Center”
under the Georgian Technical University. There I am involved in several projects, including collaborative
project with ATLAS Experiment (CERN).
With all the experiences I have gained over the years I would highly recommend the Master
of Science in IT (“Information Technology of Nuclear Engineering”) to everyone who wants to start
a challenging career at international research centers or IT companies. If I could go back in time,
I would surely choose to attend it again.
