- Geometry description of detector in ATLAS Software exists in 2 representations: Geant4 for simulation and GeoModel for rest of the tasks. It contains volumes mainly built from theoretical dimensions. Also there is no description of services and support structures
- There is an engineering database, smearTeam were geometry description is more precise and detailed built on the CATIA base
- In some cases CATIA models are also approximative while contains general envelopes for integration conflict checking purposes
- There is CDD database where detailed 2D drawings are stored.
Considering above stated issues activities as follow are foreseen:
- Retrieve Geant4 cavern background geometry description from Stanford database and export it to CATIA
- Built integrated CATIA model from smarTeam database; partly re-built 3D models from 2D CDD drawings
- Make comparison between Geant4 and CATIA models; identify difference in volumes and make study of relevance
- Generate Geant4 C++ codes from CATIA geometry; make local testing and submitting to SLAC
- Retrieve GeoModel geometry description and export it to CATIA
- Make comparison between GeoModel and CATIA models; identify difference in volumes and make study of relevance
- Generate GeoModel C++ codes from CATIA geometry; make local testing and submitting to relative groups
